Hi, I’m Ellie Krieger. Welcome to my food community! One of the things I love most about food is one of the healthiest things about it— the connection it brings between people. So I am happy to connect with you here.

I am a passionate food lover and registered dietitian nutritionist whose mission, both personally and professionally, is to find “the sweet spot” where delicious and healthy meet. That intersection is a joyful, flavorful place with enticing food that helps you thrive, and keeps you feeling your best. One of the statements I am most known for, and words I live by, is “In my food world there is no fear or guilt, only joy and balance.”

You might recognize me from my TV shows, Healthy Appetite on Food Network, or Ellie’s Real Good Food on Public Television. I have also written seven cookbooks (two have won the James Beard Foundation award) and I write a regular column for The Washington Post called Nourish.

I have a bachelors in clinical nutrition from Cornell University and masters in nutrition education from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. I was born, raised and reside in New York City, where most days you can find me walking or biking around Central Park.
