I love a burger anytime of year, but there is something about eating one outside on a summer day that makes it taste even better. As we dive into the summer season this weekend I will definitely have burgers on my mind and on my plate. I might go for a classic beef burger, which when made with a reasonable-sized patty of lean meat and smart accompaniments can be a good-for-you choice, but I also look toward other proteins—poultry, seafood, and beans— for tasty burger inspiration. Here are a few absolutely delicious, healthy, easy burger recipes to consider. You cannot go wrong with any of them. Enjoy!
Salmon Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce

Made with chopped fresh salmon seasoned with lemon, dill and mustard, these salmon burgers have a Greek flavor accent which is punctuated with an accompanying tzatziki sauce (an herb-flecked cucumber-yogurt sauce). Serve on burger buns, in a pita pocket, over a green salad or in lettuce wraps—all deliciously different, and healthy ways to get out of a basic-burger, or same-old grilled salmon, rut.
Horseradish, Cheddar, and Caramelized Onion-Stuffed Burgers

These beef burgers are big in every way- big in size, big in flavor and big in “wow!” factor. By stuffing the meat with high-impact flavors, you get the juicy, melted cheddar, bun-filler you crave while still using a modest amount of meat and cheese. You could sub ground turkey for the beef, if you prefer.
Shrimp Burgers With Kimchi

These plump, flavor-packed burgers show off one of shrimp’s lesser-known assets. When ground, it becomes sticky and easily forms into a patty shape without any egg or bread crumbs, as needed for other fish cakes. Seasoned with aromatic ginger, scallion, kimchi (any variety will work), and a generous handful of fresh cilantro, the patties deliver a big flavor punch with few ingredients.
